Quiet times

Its a bit odd.  In February before we left for a visit to the UK the river seemed to be buzzing with life.  Daily otter watching was accompanied by dippers bobbing and the whistle of the kingfishers.  For the past few weeks its been quiet.  None of the above have been sighted plus the usual 4 or 5 herons seen every morning have gone to nest elsewhere.  I’m slightly concerned something sinister has occurred or perhaps with the increasing daylight hours, their routines have also altered to summertime hours.  We’ll see.
