Plenty of otters signs

The otters still live amongst us but have remained elusive.  Their tracks and spraint are often the only indicators that they have passed by.  I was fortunate to have a brief otter glimpse this month.  Whilst standing on a road bridge I looked below to investigate a rustling noise in the undergrowth.  After 30 seconds of some noisy clambering around, an otter entered the water, looked up at me and swam underneath the bridge. It appeared large in size but it was dark and I was only aided by the glow of orange street lights.
