Lamprey
The otters remain invisible. I hope the next month is more fortuitous. The weather in April prevented us for looking extensively and together with fisherman in search of trout and salmon we’ve had little to go on.
However, early this morning I spotted a crow picking at something on the riverbank. Upon closer inpsection it turned out to be a small lamprey. The chewed tail points towards an otter. I’m always intrigued by the thoughts of a lamprey, their appearance is like a creature from another planet.
Possibly chewed by an otter
